The Chairman of In-dependent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega has said that INEC would commence the voters’ registration for the 2015 elections next month.
Jega also said that the commission would create new polling units to de-congest over-populated units across the country.
He spoke during the opening ceremony of INEC/State Independent Electoral Commission, SIECs, Experience Sharing Conference in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP in Kaduna, yesterday.
His words: “The continuous voters’ registration exercise is to ensure that those who have turned 18 years between 2011 and now are registered before the 2015 general elections.
Also those that, were 18 and above, but were unable to register for one reason or the other will be given opportunity to register.
“We will commence this registration next month, and all human resources and materials for the exercise are ready.
“This is to ensure that no Nigerian adult is disenfranchised from his exercising his constitutional right to vote and even be voted for.
The conference ends today.
