Blessing Okagbare (left) leaps to 6.99m to win silver in the women’s long jump at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow yesterday.
Nigerian sprint star, Blessing Okagbare will join other top athletes including Olympic and World Indoor champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica and US born Allyson Felix to compete at the IAAF Jamaica International Invitational on May 3.
Fraser-Pryce, fresh from claiming the World Indoor 60m gold medal, raced with Okagbare in the final of the women 100 and 200m at the 2013 World Champion-ships in Moscow Russia.
Fraser-Pryce won both races, while Okagbare settled for bronze in the 200m just as Felix who was tipped to win that 200m race pulled up at the last curve due to a hamstring injury.
