Nigerian- based beautician and oil & gas personnel, Blessing Oshua Ekane had her degree in Business Administration from Auchi Polytechnic and an MBA from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. She is also a wellness coach.
She did an online programme from a US-based University before she became an expert in wellness coaching.
She started her career as oil and gas personnel and today, she is still doing well in the industry.
She started beauty business in 1995 even without going to school to acquire the skill. She’s the CEO DeeBee Beauty Klinik & Spa, a subsidiary of Oshbio Enterprises Limited located Opebi Road, Ikeja Lagos. Recently the gorgeous-looking woman of substance spoke with Saturday Vanguard about her journey so far and how she has influenced the society.
Life as wellness coach
The main motive of Deebee beauty Klinik and spa is to give life to people by beautifying them with skin treatment and making them healthy. For example, we have a spa and at the same time, we have a gym that can be used to tackle muscular problems and help keep in shape.
Running the business
I have been in the beauty world since December 1995 and I thank God for his mercy which is sustaining us till this moment?
Life before being a wellness coach
I was working in an oil and gas firm and I am still very active in the business. I combine the two businesses.
My inspiration
My inspiration comes from God who has been my strong backbone. When I see people, I believe in transforming their natural God-given beauty. I enjoy beautifying people.
My chosen career
It’s a very lucrative and creative business. I am really fulfilled. I thank God for His grace. He has been my strong tower. I use my God given talent to affect the society positively, beautifying beauties. I love beauty. I used to do Mary Kay and I do counsel people especially women that because they have children doesn’t suggest they should look old.
You have to be nice at all times and look beautiful. You might not really need to go for an expensive make-up but you have to be good with what one you can afford. My going into wellness business proper will be attributed to the passion I have for it and I decided to put it into practice.
Combining two professions
Naturally, I am a restless person. Besides, this doesn’t disturb me as I have trustworthy employees that manage the place when I’m not available. It is God that has been helping us because it is not easy to combine two businesses together with the homefront.
My clients
We all belong to God almighty. It is not about money. I know the number of people I have given life to. One thing that works with us here is that we enlighten people many of whom are dying of ignorance. One thing that affects our health most is our lifestyle. For example, what we eat, time to eat, and what to do after eating.
A piece of meat will take three days to digest after eating it and most Africans especially men love eating meat and that is why most of them have big stomachs. I try to educate people about this.
I am also into green world, a herbal supplement which works very much. Many do the business to make money or name but I do it to help people’s health .
Training on wellness
I didn’t go to a beauty school. These things I do are gifts from God. I’m a hairdresser, body massager and skin treatment expert. They are my passion and I read more about them in books.
