Group commends Jonathan for choosing Obanikoro as minister

Lagos – The Association of Lagos State Indigenes (ALSI), on Tuesday commended President Goodluck Jonathan for submitting the name of Sen. Musliu Obanikoro to the Senate for confirmation as a minister.

Obanikoro, a former Ambassador to Ghana, is among other nominees to be screened by the Senate.

ALSI said in a statement that the choice of Obanikoro had doused the tension about having a non-indigene as the state’s representative in the federal cabinet.

The statement was jointly signed by the President of ALSI, Mr Layi Ajayi-Bembe and the General-Secretary, Chief Emmanuel Cole,

According to the statement, Obanikoro is an illustrious son of Lagos State who has what it takes to serve the country meritoriously.

It assured the president of its continued support and highest regards and acknowledged his administration’s laudable achievements aimed at improving all sectors of the economy and the welfare of Nigerians. (NAN)
