German coach bemoans loss to Sand Eagles at COPA Lagos

The Head Coach of Germany’s Beach Soccer Team, Urs Boringscute, on Saturday in Lagos said that he was ashamed of his team’s inability to outwit the Super Sand Eagles.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Germany, former world champions, were humbled 7-1 by defending champions Nigeria.

The coach told NAN that the weather may have been a factor but described his team’s performance as horrible.

“Our performance was horrible, we are ashamed of our performance, and we will have to talk about what happened.

“Maybe it was the weather, but that notwithstanding our performance was poor, but the next match will be different.

“Nigeria’s squad is very tough. They have good players’’, Boringschuke said.

NAN reports that Super Sand Eagles’ Captain, Isiaka Olawale, opened the score line in less than three minutes into the game.

Sand Eagles Coach, Audu Adamu said the team would continue with its winning ways.

According to him, the team will not under rate any team in the ongoing tournament.

“I’m proud of our performance, but we won’t allow that to get into our heads, we will remain focused.

“We won’t under rate any team in this tournament, we thank our fans for coming out to support us’’, he said.

NAN reports that the Sand Eagles will face Lebanon in the next encounter.
