LAGOS — A 32-year-old man, Ikechukwu Onyekwuo, and three others were yesterday, arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate’s court, for allegedly stealing N5.9 million, belonging to Foltechs Engineering Services Ltd.
The other suspects who were docked alongside Onyekwuo are Tolulope Akinyemi, 28; Olalekan Agoro, 27 and Yakus Sodiq, 26.
The defendants who were before Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The police prosecutor, ASP Barth Nwakoye, told the court that the defendants conspired together and gained entrance into Foltechs Engineering Services Ltd’s warehouse.
He said they committed the crime on August 17, 2013, at about midnight, at Plot 4, Limca Way, in Isolo area of Lagos.
He said they stole 3000 pieces of MCB, valued N3 million; 37 pieces of GSW valued N1, 739,000; extention sockets which comprise of four gang, five gang and six gang respectively all valued N303,400.
He also claimed that they stole 32 pieces of 63A industrial pin, worth N440,000, bringing all items stolen to N5,962,400, property of Foltechs Engineering Services Ltd.
However, when the charges was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N 200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to October 28, for mention.
