Edo CPC carpets PDP over 5-junction road project

BY SIMON  EBEGBULEM

BENIN—Congress for Progressive Change in Edo State has faulted what it described as alleged attempt by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to lay claim to projects being executed by the Governor Adams Oshiomhole administration.

The party, in a statement by its chairman, Mr. Godwin Erhahon, recalled that the state government paid compensation to those whose houses were demolished around the 5-junction area, noting that it was ungodly for the Federal Ministry of Works to claim the project.

He said: “CPC is aware, like other good people of Edo State, that it is the Edo State Government under Governor Oshiomhole, that is paying compensation for property destroyed in the process of constructing the ring road. What the fraudulent claim means is that PDP knows what is good for the people but it hates to do same because of its anti-people policy.

“This is obvious from the fact that the Federal Government is bereft of ideas, remains deaf and blind to the need for more desirable ring road at the Federal Government’s Murtala Muhammed Way in Benin City.”
