ABUJA—National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, yesterday, dashed the hopes of about 85 contractors, who bidded for the production and supply of kit items for 2013 Batch ‘A’ Corps members, insisting that only those who quoted about five percent lesser or higher than the official prices for each item would be given new jobs.
Director-General of NYSC, Brig-General Okore-Affia, said: “Many of our prospective contractors here are fully aware that the NYSC Scheme does not compromise standards.
“It is with this in mind that we remind you as always that any contractor, who fails to meet our set standards, will have their items rejected out-rightly and such contractor blacklisted.”
Represented by the Director of Procurement, Mr. Gabriel Alonge, Okore-Affa, the DG added: “It is imperative to draw the attention of all contractors to the need for timely delivery of items.
“Any delayed supply will be viewed seriously by the management and such contractor will no longer enjoy the patronage of the organisation.”
