THE police in Delta State, weekend, warded off what could have resulted into a bitter ethnic battle among the Arewa settlers in Abraka kingdom , an Urhobo ethnic group in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta state and the indigenes following the cold-blooded murder of a female villager in a farm by Hausa cattle herds.
Saturday Vanguard learnt that the woman was allegedly murdered in the farm by the cattle herds over a disagreement.
Irate Abraka youths went on rampage when the news of the death of the woman filtered into the community.
Delta State police spokesman, DSP, Charles Muka, who confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the alleged murder, said the police swept into action immediately to stop the youths from taking the law into their hands.
