Oni warns ACN against blackmailing judiciary

ADO EKITI—Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has described as contemptuous and an insult on the judiciary call by Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the State that his Appeal at the Supreme Court against the Appeal Court judgment, calling for the review of the October 15, 2010 judgment that removed him from office.

The ACN had been quoted as urging the Supreme Court not to entertain the appeal filed by Oni seeking to unseat Governor Kayode Fayemi.

However, Oni, who reacted through his Media Aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka said: “The ACN is only living up to its true name as a party of blackmailers and non-respecter of the rights of Nigerians to seek reddress in the Court of Law.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it is the inalienable right of Nigerians to be heard whenever they choose to approach the Court.

“It is also the duty of the Court to adjudicate on all matters brought before it.”
