Bahamas quarter miler, Chris ‘Fireman’ Brown is banking on Nigerian athletics coach, Innocent Egbunike to help him retain his 400m title at the 13th IAAF World Indoor Championships billed for this weekend in Istanbul, Turkey.
Brown one of the many international athletes trained by Egbunike is also aiming for the gold at the London 2012 Olympics and the 34- year old athlete said that with Egbunike’s guidance he would be able to achieve his gold.
Brown won the 400m indoor title in Doha, Qatar, where Egbunike formerly was coaching. He has ran an assisted 46.17 seconds this season and he is not in the top list for Istanbul boards, however, he is hopeful of keeping his title.
Egbunike was unveiled as Nigerian head coach by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. He has the onerous task of preparing the country’s athletes for the Olympics.
