Unilever to protect Nigerians with Pepsodent

As part of its commitment to improving oral health of Nigerians, Unilever Nigeria Plc said it is committed to protecting over 160 million Nigerian  with Pepsodent cavity fighter toothpaste.

Towards achieving this goal, Unilever introduced a new Pepsodent anti-cavity toothpaste over the weekend , that not only gives fluoride but particularly offers over 50percent more calcium that easily fills the tiny , weak, invisible holes, repairs early signs of tooth decay and prevents forming of tooth cavities.

Mr. Thabo Mabe , Managing Director, Unilever Nigeria, said “Unilever Oral Care has over 40 years vast experience in producing toothpaste that provides anti-cavity systems and technology, thus, this Pepsodent Anti-Cavity Fighter fluoride toothpaste “offers over 50 percent more calcium in a form (active micro-calcium) that easily fills the tiny, weak, invisible holes, reduces the effects of acids produced by bacteria on teeth, repairs signs of tooth decay, prevents teeth sensitivity and prevents the forming of cavities.”

He added that mothers who have consistently stood for the rights of the child as well as for proper and adequate development of the child, are now pleased to have toothpaste that contains calcium. Unilever feels greatly honored to champion the campaign and movement to protect the Nigerian smiles by saying “No to Cavities using Pepsodent Anti- cavity Toothpaste.”

Also speaking Mr David Okeme , Brand Building Director, Unilever Nigeria, said Pepsodent’s introduction into the market accordingly is to address the gap in the market as well as meet the consumers’ need for stronger cavity free teeth. This, he said is line with the vision of the Federal Ministry of Health to improve the Oral Health of Nigerians.

“Oral Health means more than healthy teeth and absence of disease. It actually describes a state of well being of the teeth, oral cavity, including the gums as well as supporting structures and is what Pepsodent toothpaste is offering all its consumers, which is optimal Oral Health”.

Also speaking, , Dr Victor Ajieroh, Unilever’s Nutrition and Health Manager, West Africa noted that the importance of good oral care cannot be over emphasized , while urgingl Nigerians to imbibe the culture of brushing twice daily, morning and night to ensure optimal health.
