Community laments poor facilities in local school

BY Festus Ahon

UGHELLI-PRESIDENT-General of Ekrerhavwen-Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Scott Ogbodu, has appealed to the state government to provide writing desks and other basic facilities for the secondary school in the community.

Ogbodu, who made the appeal in a chat with newsmen, Wednesday, noted with regret that since its establishment in 2007, the school had not been given any serious attention by government. He added that the school does not have enough teachers.

He lamented that most students of the school sit on bare floor to receive classes which he said was not conducive for learning.

Ogbodu expressed the willingness of the community to partner with the state government to reposition the college to provide a better learning environment for the students.

He said the community was prepared to donate land to government to develop a permanent site for the school.
