BENIN – AN Editor of African Independent Television, AIT, Mr. Jacob Idinye, has declared his intention to run for the 2012 governorship race in Edo State on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It will be recalled that Idinye was one of those who ran for the governorship primary of Action Congress, AC, in 2007 but lost out after the leadership of the party endorsed Governor Adams Oshiomhole as the candidate of the party.

Former governor of the state, Prof. Oserhiemen Osunbor, former Commander Corps of Army Finance and Accounts in the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Charles Airhiavbere(rtd), former Special Adviser to the President, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere and Mr. Ken Imasuagbon, have all indicated interest in slugging it out with Oshiomhole on the platform under PDP.
