The Chairman, Lagos State chapter, National association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB), Mr. Olufemi Babajide, has described knowledgeable manpower as key to profitable microfinance sector that would deliver smooth, efficient and effective services to the underbanked.
Speaking at the recently held capacity building programme for microfinance operators, Babajide said the training is aimed at equipping members with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to run profitable institutions.
“With a market size of over 50 million or 65 per cent of the underbanked in the country, there is the need for us to increase our relevance from 0.9 per cent to 20 per cent, as the MfBs sector is established to support the underbanked and downtrodden.”
