LAGOS – NATIONAL Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees, NUBIFIE, has suspended its President and Treasurer, Mr Ade Martin Odigie and Mr Peter Ighegue, over alleged financial recklessness and other unethical practices.
National Administrative Council, NAC, which announced the suspension of the two officers at the union’s secretariat, Lagos, said the General Secretary, Mr. Elijah. Ola, had been asked to proceed on over eight years accumulated leave.
Briefing newsmen, Acting President of the union, Mr Peter Okafor, said the suspension became necessary to save the union from further damage, adding that a committee had been set up to ascertain the level of financial recklessness leveled against both officers.
