A Niger Delta activist, Dr. Oshonwoh Ebiarede, has described the dissolution of the Mr. Ugwoha Chibuzor-led Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, as a welcome idea. He said it was an indication of Mr. President’s stand on zero tolerance to corruption.
Ebiarede, in a statement, Thursday, noted that flushing out corrupt board members of the NDDC by the President was meant to bring sanity and prudence to the management of funds meant for the transformation of the Niger Delta region.
He lamented that the former board of the commission further impoverished people of the region while projects that were supposed to add value to lives of the people were abandoned.
Oshonwoh said the former board of NDDC did not live up to expectation which was to change the lives of the people, but allowed the people to wallow in penury.
