Ekiti PDP woos Fayose

ADO-EKITI—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has commenced lobbying the former governor of the state, Mr. Ayo Fayose , back to the party in its effort to rebuild it.

In a statement after a visit of the party leaders to the former governor in his Magodo, Lagos residence last weekend,, the party lamented the circumstances that led to the exit of the former governor from the PDP to Labour Party and attributed it to internal wrangling within the party.

The communiqué by the party’s Vice Chairman, Central Senatorial District, Mr. Dipo Anisulowo and 29 others in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area of the state, where Fayose hails from, said they met with the former Governor as a way of drumming support for the party ahead of the 2013 election.

According to the statement, “the meeting reviewed the state of the party in the Local Government and the State, particularly, the recent poor outing of the party in 2011 elections.
