ABEOKUTA— Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has called on religious leaders in the country to pray for the sustained peace and unity in Nigeria and Ogun State in particular.
Speaking at the Annual Convention of The Redeemed Christian Church of God at the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Senator Amosun emphasised the importance of prayers in the sustainability of democracy in the country and acknowledged the impact of prayers by anointed men of God towards the enthronement of peace in Ogun State.
He said: “Ogun State needs a lot of prayers to return to the path of its lost glory, saying his administration is fully committed to fulfilling its electoral promises to the people.”
Governor Amosun described the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as a religious leader with widespread acceptance in the country whose preaching is respected by all irrespective of religion, tribe and affiliations.
In his sermon tagged: “Flying on wings like the eagles,” Pastor Adeboye prayed that “the lost glory of Ogun State will be restored during the tenure of the incumbent governor and assured that he will continue to pray for the success of the new administration in its mission to rebuild the state.”
