Yola-Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC, has postponed indefinitely local government elections earlier scheduled for the last week of this month.

In a statement, Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Zailani Ahmed, said inas much as the commission was determined to conduct the election, it could only do so when the proposed amendments to the state electoral  laws now before the state House of Assembly was concluded.

He said the commission proposed the amendments to the state Electoral Law 2002 to streamline a number of issues before the election.
