Ilorin-based Nigeria Premier League side, Bukola Babes have disclosed that the club is on sale and the highest bidder will carry the day.
In a chat with Inside Out Premier League, the clubs’ Team Manager, Alloy Chukwuemeka said the club would want Senator Bukola Saraki to buy the club but only if, he is the highest bidder.
He stressed that, the sale of the club was necessitated by the inability of its proprietor, Alhaji Abdul Adama run it financially.
“The proprietor, Alhaji Abdul Adama said he will sell the club to the highest bidder. The club is worth N250m but for now, we have gotten a bid of over N160m which is the highest bid as I speak.
“For the bidders, they are nine amongst who Dr. Bukola Saraki is among. The management would have loved him (Saraki) to take over the club if he is the highest bidder but the bidding process is still on,” Chukwuemeka said.
On why the club is being sold, the former Yobe Dessert Stars media chief said, “the proprietor doesn’t have the financial muscle to continue running the club following its promotion from the amateur to the premier league.
“So, he has no other option than to sell it out rightly. Before this decision was reached, he had sort for partnership with corporate bodies which never saw the light of the day. What I am sure of is that, next season, there will not be Bukola Babes as the new owner will change the name,” Chukwuemeka added.
