A group of Bini indigenes known as Oshiomhole/Odubu second term, a reality said there is no vacancy for the positions of the Governor/Deputy Governor in Edo State come 2012 election.
That the second term of Adams Oshiomohole and Pius Odubu as Governor and Deputy Governor, respectively is a reality and not negotiable. The Binis should not be deceived the second time with the propaganda of Ovbie Esese Rese (real Bini person) coming up again to contest the positions of Governor and Deputy Governor in Edo State come 2012.
The Binis witnessed the administration of our Bini sons and daughters termed Ivbie Esese Rese a few years past which was characterised by retrogressive incidents, deplorable roads, dilapidated structures in schools and hospitals, streets trading, dirty markets, stinking environment littered with refuse and human waste, traffic congestion and general indiscipline.
The Binis saw an era of corruption and misappropriation of funds in the highest magnitude. Our money was siphoned to other parts of the world for selfish interest while our people were wallowing in ardent poverty. A huge sum of our money was thrown into Ikpoba River to be washed away; some was put on top of mountain Kilimanjaro to be washed down the drains.
How are the mighty fallen! We witnessed an era of crossing Morocco in Upper Sakpoba Road that separated Orhionmwon from the City Centre, Benin City. Useh River by the Teachers House, Siluko Road also separated Ovia from Benin City.
The Binis saw an era of bore holes without pumps but billed for commissioning. Juice factory that never produced any soft drink. Cement factory that never produced even a bag of cement, street light without bulbs, roads filled with stones; hospitals without drugs, name it, all were in shamble and disarray.
We witnessed an era of schools without teachers, or without salaries paid for months. Pensioners were not paid as and when due, and many of them died. Civil servants suffered non-payment of their salaries in time. There was civil unrest, strike and indiscipline as Ebo—de (nothing will happen) was the order of the day.
All the above and many more were what the Binis suffered under the administration of Ivbie Esese Rese (Notable Bini people). They were not notable Binis sons and daughters but they were notorious.
The Binis prayed to God for a Messiah and God answered their prayers. Our notable Bini musician once said: “One day one man will come who will damn all consequences and show us the way before showing us the light”. The man has come. Do we now blame God for answering our prayers? No! Not at all. Binis can now enjoy good roads with functional street lights. Good school buildings, equipped and staffed; hospitals with drugs, clean and beautiful environment, easy and comfortable transportation with new buses; youth employment, salaries are now paid as at when due, pensioners are now happy and live longer, etc.
The Binis should be grateful to God that we have seen the man who showed us the way and gave us the light. (Ebo-re) Ebo has come.
We want to conclude by saying that the Binis should not allow any individual or group of people to trick them with the slogan of Ovbie sese Rese again.
Tell them to wait. After the second tenure of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Dr. Pius Odubu (2012 – 2016), they can come out for election because if they come up now for any election they will lose their deposit.
They can start the race by contesting the positions of the local government ward councillors. We even doubt if they can win the election. The Binis should shine their eyes now or never.
