Why Babcock High School was founded – Principal

The Principal of Babcock  University High School and Education Director of South West Nigeria Conference of seventh day Adventist church, Elder Timothy Adetayo has said that Babcock University High School was not founded to make money but to prepare young men and women for service to God and man and also for eternity.

Elder Adetayo stated this during a school debate with the topic “Is Adventist School better than non-Adventist school”? Organized by the school for their students which was one of the activities lined up to mark first South West Nigeria Conference Education week recently.

He added that another purpose of it  was to  sensitize Adventist church members and students on the importance of Adventist education.
According to him, the other aims for organizing the education week include; restoration of man to had and help the students to understand the plan of God for man to God and helping the students to understand the plan of God.

The students selected as speakers during the debate included, Orimoloye  Moyonolorun, Nwawuike Adanna, Uzondu Sharon, Fola-Bolumole Ibukun and Madu Isreal. Majority of them spoke In support of Adventist school. Four out of five of them emphasized the benefits of holistic system of education operated by  Adventist Schools which has to do with the development of the mind, head and hand, that is, mental, physical and spiritual development of the student and which does not exit in non – Adventist Schools.
