Yenagoa – Bayelsa State Government and the Yenagoa Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, YECCIMA, have reached an agreement to harness and promote the abundant agricultural potentials of the state.

The accord was reached, weekend, when the YECCIMA delegation led by its president, Chief Lionel Jonathan-Omo called on the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Blessing Akpoloma in his office.

The government agreed to the request of the chamber to jointly transform the sector and liaise to access existing linkages open to both government and the organised private sector in the state.

The agreement also seeks timely and judicious distribution of resources necessary to create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive and grow.

Vanguard learnt that Government,  acceded to YECCIMA’s plea to appoint experts and professionals as members of the boards of state owned agricultural companies, collaborate in organising seminars, conferences and workshops as well as ensure that members of the chambers benefit from the disbursement of agricultural loans through the ministry.
