LAGOS — The Arewa Consultaive Forum, ACF, has congratullated  the new leadership of the national and state Houses of Assembly on their victories as Senate President and Speakers, saying that they should use their positions to make laws that would reduce poverty in the country.

Pledging its support for the legislature in a bid to provide workable laws that would improve the lot of the people, ACF noted that misery associated with poverty was the root cause of most ethno-religious crises which  Senate and the House of Representatives for their victories in their various elections, adding that their elections were yet another opportunity to partner with other arms of government for the purpose of helping Nigerians to realise their dreams.
The statementwas signed by the National Publicity Secreatry of the forum, Anthony Sani.

It read, ‘’ACF wishes to congratulate Senator David Mark for his election as Senate President and Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as Speaker of the House of Representatives as well as all the newly elected leaders of both the National and State Houses of Assembly for their victories to provide leadership to the legislative arm of government.

‘’May this be yet another opportunity for them to enable the Legislature make laws and partner with the other arms of government for the purpose of helping Nigerians who need their burdens lifted and those who wish barriers to realising their rights broken.

‘’This is moreso that misery are the ones fueling the ethno-religious and political violence across the country.
‘’The legislative arm of government is a deliberative institution and representative of the people which is better placed to articulate the peoples’aspirations into workable laws  that have direct bearing on the lives of the people. We are with them. God bless them’’.
