Adedoja leads Galadima campaign to Sudan
The Honourable Minister/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Professor Taoheed Adedoja will lead a high_powered Nigerian delegation to next week’s 33rd Ordinary Congress of the Confederation of African Football, with the sole aim of ensuring the election of Nigerian candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima into the FIFA Executive Com-mittee.
The Nigeria Government endorsed the candidature of Alhaji Galadima, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, following the suspension of Nigerian member, Dr. Amos Adamu by FIFA in November.
The unassuming, highly respected 59-year old Galadima is tipped to retain the coveted seat for Nigeria, and a high-powered delegation led by Professor Adedoja is expected to swing things his way through deft political game-play and extensive diplomatic work.
With Professor Adedoja on the delegation are the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Chief (Dr) Patrick Ekeji and the NFF President Alhaji Aminu Maigari, who is vice chairman of the Ibrahim Galadima Campaign Committe.
There is also General Dominic Oneya, a former NFF Chairman and former Military Administrator of Benue and Kano States, who is chairman of the committee.
