By Samuel Oyadongha, Yenagoa
Suspected thugs Friday attacked the Labour Party governorship aspirant in Bayelsa State, Mr. Timi Alaibe and his supporters at his country home at Opokuma in the Kolokuma-Opokuma local government area of the state killing four persons.

The incident, the second in the series of attack on the home of Alaibe, until now Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and strong contender for the April guber race in the state occurred last night.

The Alaibe supporters, it was learnt, had in their thousands thronged his Opokuma residence give him a rousing welcome when news of his home coming from Abuja filtered into Yenagoa.

Alaibe arriving Opokuma,  was said to have been overwhelmed by the crowd and was about to address them when all hell broke loose.

The thugs, armed with dangerous weapons including guns and cutlasses were said to have stormed the place in a white bus and overpowered the security operatives on ground before unleashing mayhem on the crowd that besieged the residence.

Though the identities of those killed could not be immediately ascertained sources from the area told Saturday Vanguard that the invaders caught the security men on ground unawares. The invaders were said to have opened fire on the party supporters killing four persons in the process while others sustained injuries.
