Should immunity & impunity cover treason? -1
Nothing is all evil. Previous military governments gave us two decrees, which in retrospect, we might wish had been incorporated into our 1999 constitution. The second was the Failed Bank Decree of the Abacha administration. Although I was placed in detention four times during that regime, I will forever pray for Abacha for at least temporarily sanitizing the banking sector.
Death of our guinea pig
We lost our national guinea pig, Chief Anthony Eromosele Enahoro, to the cruel hands of death last week, at age 87. He did not die in America or England or India. He died in a hospital in Benin City, a lover of his ungrateful country unto death. In the Sunday Vanguard of June 11, 2000, I wrote a piece on The National Guinea Pig.
Demystification & humiliation of PDP (2)
Going by the abysmal performance of PDP at the federal level and in most PDP-controlled states since 1999, it would really be advantageous for our democratic evolution if the party loses the presidency and majority in both chambers of the National Assembly. But that is easier said than done.
Who ‘ll not take advantage of amendment 2010?
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, has taken quite a lot of our time these few days. If you ask me, I will say it is good he did. It was a question of money and of course, integrity. It was a popular uproar. Sanusi could not refuse to answer the summons of the sovereign parliament. He even agreed he could be sacked.
CAF 2010 Awards: Who wears the crown?
Tomorrow in Cairo, 4-3-1 does not quite make it as playing formation but later in the night, one of the above numbers might resonate a significant meaning. Samuel Eto’o is eyeing his 4th CAF Footballer of the Year title, in a fascinating contest, that could also make Didier Drogba a 3rd time winner or see Asamoah Gyan crowned first time winner of the prestigious award.
Ita-Giwa: The coronation of a princess
Barely a year after she was crowned ‘The Amazon Of Cross Rivers’ at the famous Tinapa Resort by the First Lady of Cross Rivers State, Mrs. Liyel Imoke, Cross Riverians just did honour again to their proud Princess of Bakassi, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.
There ‘ll Be Consequences For Rejecting Electoral Reform – Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi
P rofessor Bolaji Akinyemi was Foreign Affairs Minister during the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida administration.
As a foreign policy expert, Sunday Vanguard went after him in the wake of the Wikileaks saga last week and made some startling discoveries about Nigeria’s foreign policy slipshod.
2011: PDP governors and those who want their jobs
POLITICAL activities at the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been brought to a halt literally in the last few weeks following the change of the 2011 polls time table by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Ondo PDP accused of candidate’s imposition
AN alleged plan by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State to impose a candidate for the seat of the South Senatorial District of the state is causing ripples in the party.
NASS, ministries, parastatals review 2010 budget performance
As members of the National Assembly prepare to deliberate on the N4.2 trillion budget for 2011 submitted by President Goodluck Jonathan, virtually all the ministries, parastatals are doing everything in the books to convince the committees of both chambers to approve their appropriation for the 2011 fiscal year.
Precious cargo!!
As the year races to an end, it is always great to look back and see what was so great and not so great about it. I can certainly count a few peeves that test patience as a virtue, but there are some that make you question life and humanity as a whole. Some occurrences are a slap in the face of our creator and the fact that they can happen in any society makes all of us culpable of breeding evil.

Sporting a low cut
Do not be fooled; a low cut needs work for it to look crisp and precise. Your low-cut hairstyle must have some sort of defined order. So, how can you achieve this?
Invest in your own clippers. I recommend the American ANDIS clippers because they have precision teeth, so you can fade your edges for a cleaner look.
