CMCIN inductees charged on professionalism

NEWLY inducted members of the Certified Marketing Communications Institute of Nigeria, CMCIN, have been charged to be good ambassadors of the institute by demonstrating sound professionalism in the course of their duties.

Giving the charge at the 7th Integrated Marketing Communications Summit, with the theme: “Emerging Trends in Political Marketing Communications & Corporate Communications Process,” in Lagos recently, National President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute, Prof. Dayo Alao, charged the newly inductees to be mindful of the ethics of the profession even as he urged them to defend their integrity.

He expressed optimism that the newly inductees would make positive contribution to the national economy using IMC as a tool.

“On behalf of CMCIN, I hereby charge you to let the professional ethics of integrity, honesty, transparency, equity, accountability, responsiveness and responsibility with consistency towards your clients, family, CMCIN, colleagues in practice be your watchword. I urged you to become good ambassadors of the institute by saying No to unethical and ungodly practices which is the order of the day in the today’s world.

“Defend your integrity, for it will speak for you in due season. We are injecting you into the economy to make a wonderful and positive change in CMCIN…We make the difference.” Prof. Alao said.

In his welcome address, the summit planning committee Chairman, Dr. Kunle Balogun listed the objectives of the submit to include the need to x-ray past and current efforts in the use of political marketing communications strategies in the implementation of political election and governance; to create a forum as well as set agenda for discussing emerging issues in democratic process with a view to proffering necessary communications solutions protracting political problems.

Over 200 new members were inducted into various grades of membership of the institute including Licentiates Practicing member (LIMCN); Registered members (RIMCN); Associate Members (AIMCN); Full Member (MIMCN) and Fellow (FIMCN).
