Delta students back Uduaghan for re-run poll

UGHELLI—AHEAD of the Delta State gubernatorial re-run, students of tertiary institutions across the country of the state origin, yesterday, adopted Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as their candidate.

National President of the National Association of Delta State, Mr Agbanishi Obinne, said Uduaghan was committed to the development of education, while in office, adding  “he is education  friendly person, who was committed to the development of the educational sector and the welfare of students.”

Obinne who stated this during a meeting of leaders of different student organisations in the country with the Commissioner for Higher Education in the state, Prof. Hope Eghagha, said “students of the state origin have never had it so good as witnessed under Uduaghan’s administration in terms of increment in bursary and ensuring conducive learning environment in tertiary institutions in the state.”

Assuring that they would joins hands with progressives in the state to ensure that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan emerged victorios in the re_run elections, he said Uduaghan was a good leader.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha, said the essence of the meeting was to keep the students informed of government programmes and for government to also know their challenges with a view to ensuring that students of the State origin competes favourably with their counterparts anywhere in  the world.
