KSA, Obey One Night Stand postponed

The much hyped show down between two giants of juju music, King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey tagged One Night Stand have been postponed indefinitely.

The organiser of the show Mr. Azuka Jebose in a few lines statement said “Due to circumstances beyond our control and with the  blessing of both musicians after meetings, we have postponed indefinitely the concert.

We regret any inconvenience caused the numerous fans of the musicians and look forward to working with them in the nearest future. God bless us all.”

But close associates of the organisers told Showtime that the decision to postpone followed the high demand for the tickets.

“The truth is that the scope and magnitude of the concert simply overwhelmed them and they had to scurry back to the drawing board.

The reactions of Nigerians to the concert were such that the demands for the tickets outstripped tickets supply far beyond the imagination of the oragnisers, so much so that they are indications that the Expo Centre venue of Eko Hotel may no longer be suitable for the show,” the source hinted

Mr. Azuka Jebose, Chief Executive officer of Faaji Concept, the organisers of the show, told this reporter that “our decision to postpone the concert  was first at a tandem with the two great musicians and secondly it was a decision  born out of the desire to put together a world class show.

For King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Obey, it is a life time opportunity to do this and to achieve this, we need to provide a good platform for their dream to come true”

Continuing, the America-based businessman  who was once plied his trade as an entertainment writer with the Punch group revealed that soon a new date will be announced and Nigerians will have the rare opportunity to see the two giants do their thing one stage and in one night.
