Nigeria’s boxing coach Ndika Noel Nsofor declared yesterday that  his wards have bright chances of winning a medal as the boxing event continued yesterday.

The coach was awash with optimism after another Nigerian boxer, Waheed Shogbamu advanced to the next round yesterday.  Shogbamu fighting in the lightweight category outclassed his Pakistani opponent with an 11.1 score. He joined Lukmon Lawal who has earned a second round place.

“We can get a medal here, but I only have one wish. And that is, my boxers should listen to instructions.
“We have very good boxers in camp who can win gold. And with what I have seen of the tournament we can do it,” said the coach.
