Students spend 6-weeks holiday learning Information Technology

About One Hundred and Twenty (120) participants were awarded certificates and prizes as the 2010 Summer School Programme of Caleb International College, Magodo, Lagos, came to an end on Friday September 3, 2010 with lots of fun, exhibition and award presentation.

The ceremony which was held at the Multi-purpose Auditorium of the institute climaxed an eventful six-week holiday coaching which saw the students learn skills in Information Technology (IT), Fashion Design (Tie-Die), Cake Baking, Cooking, Swimming, French Speaking as well as excursion trips to Amusement Park and Sea School, Apapa, Lagos for Leadership Training courses.

During the closing ceremony, pupils presented crafted fabrics, French renditions and cake designs to the delight of parents and guests at the occasion.

While presenting certificates to the participants, co-ordinator of the programme, Mr. Olaitan Temitayo, noted that “the objective of the programme was to create a relaxed atmosphere for the students to learn new things and be further imparted with the vision, culture and principles of the school. “

A Junior Secondary School one (JSS 1) student, Ms. Oyinkansola Jolasimi, remarked that the programme has instilled creativity and ‘can do’ mentality into her.

“I have improved in swimming and can now prepare a variety of dishes like Of ad a Stew, Egusi and Afang soup,” she said.

With the conclusion of the 2010 summer coaching exercise, normal academic activities commenced on Monday 13th September 2010 for new students and 20th September 2010 for old students.
