Lagos State Government through the state Agricultural Development Authority (LSADA) has disbursed about N36 million for the implementation of the National Programme for Food Security (NPFS).
LSDA Programme Manager, Dr. Olajide Basorun, disclosed this during a visit to site of some of the implemented project in the state.
He said the aim was to supervise projects undertaken and ensure compliance with the developmental objective of improving household food security and income through increase in productivity, diversification and sustainable use of natural resources.
Basorun told some of the beneficiaries that food security is one of the major development agenda of the present administration, adding that this was in line with the overall mission statement of the state ministry of agriculture and cooperative.
He added: “To ensure food security in the state, government is actively collaborating with the national and international agencies of which NPFS is one of such projects.”
