There are palpable fears that FIFA may bar Nigeria from international competitions, following what was described as interference in football matters by the agents of the government. But Bio said during the weekend that he would seek an audience with FIFA to make the issues on the ground clearer.
“The government did not take them to court because they dragged themselves there. So, we didn’t interfere.
“Our own concern is to sort things out in order to make sure that the nation’s desire to be at the 2012 Nations Cup and other competitions do not suffer. Also, we are concerned with the local league and that is why we hope to open consultation with FIFA this week.
Officials of the NFF too will be consulted to ensure that football activities and the league go ahead on schedule,” Bio said in Abuja.
