Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko have been enjoined to join hands with the Management of the Institution to achieve its noble goal of becoming a model 21st century institution.

This call was made by the Vice–Chancellor, Prof Femi Mimiko while receiving five awards from the Students In Free Enterprise, SIFE of the institution who participated in the just concluded National Competition held in Abuja.

He advised them to begin preparations immediately so as to do better in future competitions. “As soon as you have enough rest, you should begin to plan for the next competition,” he said.

While presenting the award to the Vice Chancellor, the Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Olugbenga Ige, appreciated the Management for their support especially in ensuring that students are allowed to participate and not left out of the competition.

He praised the students for making the school proud by taking the lead in Market Economy, Environmental Sustainability, Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship.  “Students of AAUA are actually coming on board and we are gradually becoming an institution to be reckoned with. He charged them to do more and not to relent in their efforts, Ige said.

Speaking earlier, the Faculty Adviser and the leader of the team, Mr. Famuti Temitope, commended the Management for their unflinching support since the commencement of the programme.

He opined that the University should do more by empowering the student’s group through a grant to commercialize the production and sales of ‘Captain Coal and soap’.
Over 46 tertiary institutions participated in the Competition. The overall winner is expected to represent Nigeria at the SIFE World Cup coming up in October 2010, in Los Angeles, USA.
