By Olasunkanmi Akoni

ODE-REMO, OGUN—The leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun East Senatorial District have condemned the suspension of Gbenga Oduwaiye, Kayode Amusan and nine others by the House of Representatives.

Speaking through the Chairman of the Council, Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi at a briefing in Ode- Remo, Ogun State, the leaders said the action of the leadership of the House was uncalled for and called for immediate lifting of their suspension.

According to him, “the leaders and members of our party in Ogun East Senatorial district condemn the vindictive action of Speaker Bankole and his cronies for suspending Gbenga Oduwaiye and Kayode Amusan, with nine others.

“Unknown to members of the House of Representatives, Speaker Bankole, who masterminded the unconstitutional suspension of our members, is apparently pursuing a personal vendetta to settle political scores with Oduwaiye and Amusan who are from Ogun State.

The elders also called on the Ogun State House of Assembly to immediately lift the suspension placed on two members of the House, Titi Oseni and Omosanya Solaja forthwith in the interest of equity and  peace.

“We are seriously worried and disturbed about the long and obnoxious suspension of our members of the State House of Assembly. We urge Egbetokun to lift the suspension with immediate effect.”
