Double denim
The Nineties look was reintroduced with the ‘double denim’ at the fashion weeks as Ralph Lauren came out with a collection of distressed jeans paired with denim shirts. Chloe, D&G and Jeremy Scott were among the labels to follow suit. The ‘double denim’ look is now moving off the runway and magazine pages and onto the streets.

Spain, Netherlands New World Soccer order
It is the final of the 2010 World Cup and there is no Brazil, Italy, Germany and Argentina traditional global soccer powers in the mix. Rather two teams regarded as underachievers of world football…
Tale of two beauty queens
In the 90’s these two women were hot cakes as they reigned both as Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and Miss Nigeria respectively. While Nike Oshinowo-Soleye was Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Binta Sunkai emerged as a shining northern star to be crowned Miss Nigeria. That was 20 years ago. It was such a joy recently to find these two beauties in one room at a media parley to announce the return of Nigeria’s earliest beauty pageant, Miss Nigeria.
Statement Platforms
Making a statement sometimes could be a very simple task if you know what to put together to achieve that. A great shoe with the right edge could be the perfect accessory that you need to lift a simple t-shirt and trouser and help you make that entrance that cause heads to turn! And what can achieve that more quickly than a statement platform?
Show off that Back
Sometimes you can find sexiness in places you least expect it! Even though most women think sexy means showing off your legs or exposing a bit (or a lot of cleavage) But few women take advantage of what is often the best body part to show off the back!
Joy Agbakoba clocks 50
President of Idia Collge Benin old girls association, Mrs Joy Agbakoba, last weekend in Lagos marked her golden jubilee in style. Friends and family gathered at the posh Atlantic Beach Center, for a bash to honour one of their own. The event afforded friends the opportunity to pour encomiums on Mrs Agbakoba who many described as a truthful and dedicated person.
The Truth is your Path to Success and Wealth
Talking about money sense, I received a text message from a friend and the stark reality of the Nigerian problem hit me in such a way that I felt compelled to share it with you. The message reads thus:
I saved money for 12 months to buy a bicycle — Chief Afe Babalola
Nestled in the serene town of Ado Eki is the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), a pioneer private university in Ekiti State built by legal Icon, Chief Afe Babbalola. He had insisted that if this interview must hold, it had to be at the University as he wanted this reporter to have a first hand assessment of his education project. But we arrived at Ado Ekiti to a Mecca of some sort. His office was a beehive of activities, scores of people gathered outside his office taking turns to see him. Clad in a checked shirt over a pair of jeans and matching canvas and kangol hat, he presented an image far removed from the Litigator Supreme who has made Emmanuel Chambers a place for the high and low seeking justice. He had just returned from his farm he explained. It was interesting to see how he related with people in his community many of who had come to him for one help or the other. Giving as he later told us has become a way of life for him with over 20 charities benefitting from his deep purse.
Remedy for Insanity
Is there a person in your life you think needs changing? Almost all of us would answer “Yes†to that question. This week several of my clients have been facing struggles with people whose attitudes, words and actions they believe need major adjustments. As I worked with them, I gained valuable clarity for myself.
Abandonment of zoning: The entrapment of Jonathan and the South?
Having allowed speculations about his aspiration for the presidency next year, President Goodluck Jonathan may have unwittingly set in motion a possible chain of events that is bound to change the face of politics in Nigeria. But will the North, which sees its opportunity of producing the president for another four years being tampered with by Jonathan’s aspiration, allow matters to lay low? This report looks at the implications of PDP leaders’ sudden repudiation of zoning, a move that may have more debilitating consequences for the south and other minorities in Nigeria.

Proving Critics Wrong Or Beating competition: Vain hope and positive confessions count for nothing (Concluded)
I had hoped for this piece to be concluded last week but it should this week. I had started on the story of how I was assigned to understudy an expatriate specialist (Wim) who was retiring from the company about 16 years ago.
