Aconstruction and building materials firm, Emel Building Materials, is set to partner property developers, under the aegis of Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN)on the supply of quality building materials.
Business Development Manager, Emel Building Materials, Mr. Vikram Mansukhani, said that the partnership with REDAN is in line with its commitment towards supporting and promoting the Nigerian building and construction industry.
Mansukhani remarked at the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) of REDAN that the gathering offered a veritable opportunity to promote the Emel brand as it targets the fast growing real estate developers from across the country. He said that the company recognises the opportunity presented by the forum to build stronger customer relationship with key business leaders and professionals at the event.
National President of REDAN, Chief Olabode Afolayan, said that the company’s participation was evidence of the growing need to exploit and harness the pool of resources and expertise of the private sector in accelerating housing delivery in the nation. He noted that it has become virtually impossible for developers to secure funds for housing construction; adding that working to restore flow of funds to the real estate and housing sector should without doubt be top priority.
He called on banks especially FMBN to assist players in the sector with facilities to further enhance their productivity, noting that manufacturers would do better if they enjoyed constant facilities from banks. “It needs to be emphasised that a reliable and steady flow of credit to real estate and housing sector is essential for economic recovery given the multiplier effect associated with mass housing development generally,†he said.
