Massage therapy is one of the oldest healing arts. It induces physiological changes that not only make you feel better but also reduces the blood level of circulating stress hormones and helps to enhance immune function. Massage dates as far back as 3000 B.C. as documented by ancient Chinese records. Ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians also used massage therapy to heal many ailments. Part of Hippocrates’ teachings recommended the use of rubbing and friction to treat joint and circulatory problems. In present times, the benefits of massage are varied. Massage is used as a part of physical rehabilitation and has proved beneficial in the treatment of many conditions including low back pain, fatigue, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, infertility, immune suppression, depression, bursitis and smoking cessation. I am not a hustler – Brigadier -General MOBOLAJI JOHNSON (rtd)

The history of Lagos State would not be complete without the mention of Brigadier-General Mobolaji Johnson. As the first military governor of Lagos State, under General Yakubu Gowon, he ruled and left office with an unblemished record between 1967-1975.

Born in Lagos in 1936, Mobolai Johnson began his educational career at Reagan Memorial Baptist School, Yaba in 1941. From there he proceeded to the popular Hussey College in Warri and finished in 1954. In 1959, he began his military training at the Officer Cadet Training School in Ghana. Several other training followed at Mons Officer Cadet School Aldershot and Royal Military Academy, Sandhurt.

SECURITY agents averted what could have resulted in a bloody clash at the Benin Airport Saturday, between members of the Chief Tony Anenih faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and those of Dr Samuel Ogbemudia’s faction who stormed the airport to welcome President Goodluck Jonathan, who was on his way to Oghara, Delta State for the commissioning of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital and the headquarters of the Nigerian Navy Logistics Command.
