At The PALMS Maiden

What was meant to bring together fashion and beauty retail outlets together under one umbrella at The Palms turned out to be a colourful and stylish fashion show.

According to Mrs. Omoyemi Akerele, Style Editor of ‘True Love Magazine’ and one of the organisers, the event is to show case the fashion potentials of retail shops housed at The Palms.

Bola Sobande, Centre Manager, The Palms, noted that “the event was inspired by the need to show case quality brands in the beauty and fashion world housed at the centre”. The event, which was organised by The Palms and Style House, penultimate Saturday in Lagos Island had retail outfits like: Mario, Levis, Nike, Twice As Nice, Mango, Da Viva, Swatch Watches, The Hub, Mobos, Tiffany Amber, and Polo with Hangers and Kits participating actively.

The fashion show had different segments with the children’s catwalk taking the lead, showcasing trendy designer clothes and shoes for boys and girls from Twice As Nice.

The second segment featured mind blowing designer causal apparels for adults. The fashion show also featured everyday clothes to super glam attires like: mini-dresses, shorts, three-quarter skinny jeans and flowing gowns.

Mobos and Tiffany Amber came out with impressive collection of evening dresses made from chiffon fabrics while Levis churned out a collection that caters for young happening dudes exploring the world of fashion with designer, boot cut and straight cut jeans.

Another electrifying feature on the runway was the use of cool hi-tech gadgets such as state-of-the-art phones, i-pods and blue tooth from “the hub” to accessorise the outfits, giving them a soothing hype.

Models also wore hot, trendy accessories like bangles, beads, cocktail rings, necklace, watches and earrings to create a fashionable effect.
