Following the unimpressive outing so far in the ongoing 2010 World Cup in South Africa , former Shooting Star boss, Elder Bode Oyewole has said Nigeria lost to Greece as a result of technical deficiency on the part of the Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerback.
Last Thursday Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 by Greece in their second game at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, after Sani Kaita was sent off for kicking a Greek player.
According to him, Lagerback’s substitution after Kaita was sent off paved way for the team’s loss.
In a chat with Saturday Vanguard’s Sports, the Ibadan based NPL Match Commissioner said Lagerback’s faulty tactics showed that he is not grounded and does not have any idea on the right players to use .
“It is unfortunate that things happened the way they happened, if not for the stupid act of  Sani Kaita we would not have gotten where we are today. The blame does not only go to Kaita alone both also to Lagerback.
A good coach would not have acted the way he did, especially replacing a defender with an attacker. With the look of things, there is no hope for the team. If we are counting on South Korea and Greece to go, sleep we are just joking.
It is clear we are out of the competition, there is nothing we can do,†he said.  Nigeria are not yet out of the World Cup. A handsome win over South Korea could still see the Super Eagles advance.
