Deltans tasked on peace

By Festus Ahon

UGHELLI—Niger Deltans, particularly the militants have been charged to give peace a chance in the region by creating the enabling environment for President Goodluck Jonathan to develop the region.

Giving the charge while donating food items, toiletries and cash to Oghole Orphanage Home, Oleh and Government Hospital, Owhe and Igbide, Delta State, Miss Oghale Osiga said the people of the region should be happy that their son is at the helm of affairs in the country. Osiga said her decision to donate to the Orphanage Home and government hospitals was informed by her desire to celebrate with the inmates and patients, particularly the children as they marked the 2010 Children’s Day.

According to her, children are great assets to their families and the society, adding “they are wonderful blessings from God to be loved and cherished by both parents and persons of goodwill in our society.”

She said that the future of the children lies in their ability to adequately cater for their needs, stressing that her foundation “Oghale Osiga Foundation” was poised to contribute its quota to human development.
