WARRI—DEPUTY Governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN, yesterday, urged the Urhobo ethnic nationality to give unalloyed support to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, in his second term bid.
Speaking at the Delta Central Senatorial District rally for Uduaghan 2011 at Isiokolo, Utuama observed that the Urhobo have every cause to support the re-election bid of Uduaghan because of the laudable achievements of his administration since May 2007.
“Where do we put our support? It is no other place than in a Governor, who has performed. And who is that Governor? He is Uduaghan. Every other person who is coming is empty and has nothing to give us. Let the person tell us where he has ruled before and what he gave the people?â€
Chairman of the campaign organisation, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, said that the peace and security the Uduaghan administration has enthroned in the state was unquantifiable.
Okowa urged the people not to listen to detractors who, in their bid to discredit the administration, have been going about saying that the Uduaghan government has not performed.
He listed the free medical programme for pregnant women and children under five, free senior school certificate enrolment, and micro credit programme, as some impressive achievements of the Uduaghan administration.
He noted that the resurgence of Warri Port as the number two in the country at the moment, on-going Asaba International Airport, international runway at the Osubi Airport and Ughelli-Asaba Road dualization were eloquent testimonies of the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development of the state.
