Stranded passengers allege harassment at NMA

By Festus AHON, Ughelli
Following the opening of  the airspace in Europe after several days of the unfortunate Iceland volcanic eruption, the pain and stress of stranded passengers have been made worse by  the staff of some of the operating airlines at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

At the departure hall of the MMA yesterday, weary travelers were shoved, kicked and verbally assaulted by the airline and airport workers.

According to Engr. Ufuoma Akporanyote who spoke to our correspondent on his GSM, “In all my several years of flying the Lagos – London routes, I have never seen or heard of this kind of ill-treatment from a supposedly trained official of a foreign airline”.

The obviously stunned Managing Director of Boom Technical Services, London regrettably narrated how he was pushed and kicked from behind by a member of staff of Delta Airline who boastfully gave his name as Mr. Anthony Okolie.
