BENINâ€”Edo State was agog weekend when an Action Congress, AC, chieftain, Mr. Lance Momodu, was turbaned a first class chief by His Royal Highness, Alhaji D.Y. E. Khanoba, JP, the Eghiegba of Ekperiland in Etsako Central LGA of Edo State.
Momodu, an Abuja-based quantity surveyor and businessman, was conferred with the title Okalokulo of Ekperiland at a ceremony witnessed by a crowd of party faithful who thronged the venue.
Describing Momodu as an illustrious son who has worked hard for the upliftment of the people of Edo State, HRH Khanoba, said Momodu was being honoured with the title purely as a result of his meritorious service to the people. Extolling Momoduâ€™s virtues, the royal father described him as an honest, hardworking and reliable person.
After the chieftaincy, the train moved on to Ewora, a sleepy town at Agbede,Â Etsako West LGA, where another Royal Highness, the Enogie of Igueben, Ehizogie Eluojierior I (JP), the Okaigun of Esan land, was on hand to assist Chief Lance Momodu to give out his daughter, Tawatu Pamela Momodu.
