CIBN holds AGM, elects new office holders

The banking industry is upbeat as the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) firms up all necessary arrangements towards ensuring a hitch-free 2009 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of new Office Holders that will steer the ship of the Institute for the next two years.

The AGM and election are scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Ijewere Hall, Bankers House, Victoria Island, Lagos, at 10 am and 12 noon, respectively.

Mr. ‘Laoye Jaiyeola, FCIB, Ag. President/Chairman of Council, of the Institute will preside over the Annual General Meeting and will be assisted by Deacon Segun Ajibola, National Treasurer.

Among top dignitaries expected to attend the events include, Chairmen and Chief Executives of banks, Past Presidents of the Institute, Presidents of other professional bodies, top Government functionaries, Fellows, Honourary Senior Members, Associates and other relevant stakeholders.

The meeting will consider the Annual Reports, Accounts and other important matters affecting the industry and the welfare of members.

We encourage members of the Institute all over the country to endeavour to be part of the deliberations at the AGM and election process for the interest of our banking profession and industry.
Dr. ‘Uju M. Ogubunka, FCIB, Registrar/Chief Executive will be the Chief Host of the events.
