Abuja LGA polls will be 2011 model, Minister boasts

Abuja- AS residents of the nation’s capital city come out today for the Area Council Polls, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Senator Bala Muhammad boasted on Friday that the election will be a model for the 2011 general elections.

Senator Muhammad also warned all the political parties, major stakeholders to eschew every form of bitterness and conduct that could adversely affect the smooth process of the exercise, just as he advised both the would be winners and losers to be good sportsmen, adding that conceding defeat is a mark of heroism.

Speaking yesterday in his office while addressing the stakeholders meeting on the FCT Area Councils’ Elections, the FCTA Minister promised that the Administration would provide a level playing ground for all political parties in order to improve on what he said was achieved in the last Anambra State Gubernatorial election.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Dr. Goke Adegoroye, FCDA Executive Secretary, Engineer Muhammad Sani Alhassan, the FCT Commissioner of Police, members of the FCT Security Council, Chairmen of the six Area Councils and members of the FCT Monitoring Board.
