Omatseye urges support for Uduaghan’s re-election

By Emma Arubi

WARRI—POLITICIANS scheming for the governorship position in Delta State have been advised to drop their ambition and join the train to ensure the return of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for a second term.

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart and Chairman of the Uduaghan Train Movement (UTM), Mr. Tony Omatseye, gave the advise yesterday in Warri, saying that “apart from being ordained to rule the state for eight years, the governor ‘s developmental strides and politics of inclusiveness has endeared him to all in the state.

Mr. Omatseye, who listed Governor Uduaghan’s award winning micro-credit programme,Urban Mass Transit Scheme, Bursary and scholarship scheme at all levels, completion of the Government Specialist Hospital at Oghara, building of mini-stadia across the state amongst others as evidence of his good governance, said the Uduaghan Train Movement would work very hard to ensure the governor’s victory at the 2011 general elections by working in concert with other well meaning groups.

He further stated that they would not give room for other political parties to contest Uduaghan’s  victory as they comb the nooks and crannies of the state to convince Deltans on the need to vote massively for the governor, adding that  those scheming to rig and hijack ballot boxes shuld have a rethink as INEC is committed to conducting a credible election come 2011.

Commending the Urhobo Political Forum and other such groups across the state for endorsing Governor Uduaghan for a second term, he charged the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Peter Nwanboshi and his Vice, Chief Ighoyota Amori and all members of the state Executive, to rally more support for the governor to enable him take the state to a greater height.
