Marginalisation charge against Uduaghan: Kinsmen take on lawmaker

A group under the aegis of  Concerned Indigenes of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State has criticised the member representing the council in the state House of Assembly, Dr. Olisa Imegwu, for accusing the state government of marginalizing the area in the 2010 budget.

It said the accusation lacked merit and asked the executive and legislative arms of the state government to disregard the accused, which it said does not reflect the views of the people.

“We know that the publication was allegedly designed to fan the embers of sentiments and incite our good people against the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and this has its genesis in the impeachment of Dr. Imegwu as Speaker in 2008”, the group said  in a statement signed by Hon Ossai Sylvanus and Mr. Agha Nelson, chairman and secretary respectively.

It said that the Uduaghan led-administration of Delta State has ensured fairness and equity in delivering the dividends of democracy to all Deltans through the instrumentality of budgets and other avenues of development not limited to the Ministry of Works, Direct Labour Agency and Ministry of Transport as portrayed by Imegwu.
